Street markets
Austrian street markets provide an “authentic shopping experience”. Especially in Vienna, the cultural and ethnic diversity of these markets becomes transparent: Viennese humor mixes with Eastern European charm, oriental flair with Southern European temperament. The history of Vienna’s street markets dates back several centuries. Today, there are almost 30 markets in Vienna where fresh produce, groceries, antiques and, especially around the Holidays, arts and crafts items are sold.
All markets are available for filming. The Vienna City Administration, Offices MA 59 and MA 53 issue the necessary film permits. Popular Austrian and German TV-shows, such as KOMMISSAR REX and TRAUTMAN have used these markets as locations in the past.
